Brain Freeze: Live Performance Video

When I got the fantastic looper that is the Boss RC-30 for Christmas, I knew I had to write a perfectly “loopable” song. Enter “Brain Freeze.” I had way too much fun writing and arranging it that I decided I should make a live performance video to share it. Hope you enjoy! Lyrics are below ūüôā

Music & lyrics by Lexi Kelson

I know how to entertain a crowd
I can make anyone laugh out loud
But when I’m near you I can’t think
It’s like I get a little brain freeze suddenly I can’t speak

I can put my heart inside my eyes
Tell a story without using lines
But when you’re near I turn to stone
Got deer in the headlights syndrome and the cure is unknown

But if I could stop going numb
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me
If I could untie my tongue
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me

I’ve been known to pack a witty punch
Turning words into a loaded gun
But when I see you I forget how to use the alphabet
I swear there’s something in this head of mine

But if I could stop going numb
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me
If I could untie my tongue
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me
Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, oh oh

But if I could stop going numb
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me
If I could untie my tongue
I would make you fall in love with me
I would make you fall in love with me

Best of Unknown Athens Showcase

I¬†told some stories on a stage in Athens in June 2016, and it was fun+++. Here’s a YouTube playlist of all four originals I played at The Foundry’s Best of Unknown Athens Singer/Songwriter Showcase.

If you want to read my journal, check out the lyrics in the comments section of each video.

Educational Songs

Throughout my entire school career, I’ve¬†always opted to write a song for class projects. It helps me retain the information much better, and it’s just too fun an opportunity¬†to pass up. I hope you enjoy these and learn a lot.

The Cold War Song

This one may have been posted three years ago, but I still get comments by students saying that the song is helping them study for history! Best feeling ever.

The Jane Eyre Song

Because Jane Eyre is a cool gal who deserves her own song.

The Brain Song

My psychology/neuroscience obsession came in handy here.
